BührmannUbbens supports its sales campaigns with SwingGift Cheques
Guy Proost is a happy man. He has finally found a system to improve the returns on BührmannUbbens’s marketing campaigns with a minimum of effort and cost. And with the added bonus of satisfied resellers and clients.
BührmannUbbens started off as a paper wholesaler but has since grown into a logistics partner for printers, postering companies and companies providing them with supplies and storage of paper, display material, packaging materials and office materials just-in-time. With a staff of 109, it handles around 40 million kilos of paper per year producing with a turnover of 50 million Euros.

Previous campaigns
“In the past we regularly organised campaigns for our clients and resellers”, said Guy Proost, Marketing and Communications Manager at BührmannUbbens. “You know the kind of thing: six bottles of wine when you buy X pallets of paper, or a voucher from Free Record Shop or a Perfect Draft. Every time we ran a campaign we had to hunt for new incentives and so we ended up with lots of different partners.”
At the end of 2007 BührmannUbbens discovered SwingGift. “With a SwingGift Cheque the clients are able to choose exactly what they want – there is a great and varied choice of vouchers. And one single supplier means much less work and administration for us. Moreover, we can recuperate the codes from the cheques that are not exchanged and use them for the next campaign. In the past that was money down the drain.”
Better results
The results were not long in coming. “It’s true that with previous campaigns our turnover always increased. But since we have run our SwingGift campaigns, we have noticed an increase in turnover of up to 30%. Higher than ever before.” Guy Proost has noticed from client reactions that freedom of choice is what they like. “Personally I don’t drink wine. What would I do with all those bottles? Moreover, the clients can add money and get a better higher quality voucher and they can also save cheques up and accumulate the value.”
